The collaboration between Huma and Nadine bridged East and West, modernizing the centuries-old Bangladeshi art of Jamdani. Nadine’s team embraced the concept and gave it their own signature. Here’s a small snippet of how it was achieved. Creating a rich, texturized finish by Hand-dyeing muslin. Nadine developed a technique to open the weave of the muslin, allowing the design to shine through the fabric. Every panel first started with a soft ombre effect applied by hand. Hand-drawn Jamdani flowers were layered by hand in a soft ombre effect, accented with touches of gold leaf in the center of each flower. It was in combining the two elements that the work returned to the timeless technique of Jamdani.
